Sebs Thoughts #1: 2026 Thoughts and Expectations

What’s in store for seb’s blogs?

“Draw the art you want to see, start the business you want to run, play the music you want to hear, write the books you want to read, build the products you want to use – do the work you want to see done.” ~ Austin Kleon

Hello everyone, Seb here! To get straight into this, many of you will simply not need or want to read this and that’s understandable, but this is going to cover the future of my blog and talk about the struggles I had last year, so let's get straight into that. The year of 2025 held a lot of great moments for me, so much so that I feel as if I grew in many different areas of my life, but with that being said, the struggle was persistent and rough. That struggle and all the things that I was dealing with last year poured into the blog and unfortunately, despite the many plans I had, just about everything had to be canceled. There were a lot of different ideas that looking back at, would still be very fun to get into, but to be completely honest, one of my greatest mistakes was holding onto hope that certain things would come to fruition, knowing that I would continuously lack the willpower to do so. So here I am setting a new standard and a new frame for the blog in its entirety!

I told a good friend of mine that many of you may know as PRSUIT, aka, the Aussie Destroyer, Soup, TGTMCT, Mr. Billy Butcher himself, about how I struggled with making blogs last year because of my want to please the community and the desire to make things that people wanted and liked. This of course came at the cost of trying to start up blogs that I simply had no interest in making myself, and then that led to things being canceled, and a couple disappointing behind the scenes moments. That will not happen again, no more stupid Christmas challenges, no more anime blogs that I think people would like despite the only anime I have watched through and through being Cyberpunk Edgerunners (and even that’s a stretch), none of that. The year that is to come will only be filled with blogs that I truly want to do, and find the absolute most interest in, and I will try to not be ashamed of switching focus in case I burn out with one thing, but things will get done nonetheless.

Now lets address the not so elephant in the room, what in the world is gonna happen to all the matchups that were gonna happen but simply, did not? Well, to be completely honest, I do not have interest in any of them anymore. That’s not to say that the matchups are not great, as far as im concerned the likes of Oryx vs Knull and Verso vs Pinocchio are still some of my favorite matchups ever, but not for blogs. I found myself wanting to make these blogs more for the public eye, for example taking advantage of Expedition 33’s absolute dominance of the gaming industry, and not for my own enjoyment. The matchup is great, and I love the character, but the matchup that was founded off the struggles I was going through in real life turned into a publicity stunt, and that was something that I could not accept. I want to make blogs that are meaningful to the characters, a fellow blog creator told me about how Toy Story vs It Takes Two felt like a love letter to the media used, and that is the exact feeling I want to exhibit with all my blogs. Not something rushed, nor made with an artificial feeling of drive, but genuine love for the characters and for what I am doing. So that being said, none of the blogs that were going to be made last year, will be made this year. Granted, if I genuinely do find the drive sometime later this year, I won’t say no, but as of right now, those blogs are canceled completely. The plate is completely clean and I'm ready to get some new flavors on there.

Moving forward, and what many will find to be the most exciting part of this random blog, what am I actually looking to create? That is the big question heading into 2026, what to do, and that is something I've pondered on, but the ideas have stayed the same, and it's time to share those and the gameplan once and for all! Starting us off was the biggest issue I was encountering, but at the end of the day, timing is very important for some things so instead, a very deserving universe is coming to the blog world!

To start the year off strong, BIONICLE will be getting a blog! The research is very fun, and I will most likely be doing this as a solo passion project to make sure this comes out to the highest level of quality. As for the matchup, I'm not quite sure yet, but there is plenty of potential. Tahu and Takanuva are at the top of the list whenever it comes to the Bionicle side of things, but there is room for expansion, we will just have to wait and see as the research goes through. Though, to throw in some solid matchup ideas, Takanuva vs Link from Skyward sword is up there, as well as the classic Takanuva vs Lloyd always being on the table, though I am less keen on that. As for Tahu, he has many options, and the Lego Fire battle royale is definitely in the mix, but I am looking for something more personal, something that would allow the Toa of Fire to really shine against the competition in a great way. Maybe a whole new matchup has to be made, who knows! Following the BIONICLE blog however, is a matchup that I have been keen on for a good bit now, and has quickly skyrocketed to the top of my favorite matchup’s list as I continue to consume the content they are in, this said matchup being…

It's the battle between the hell molded witch goddesses! These two are some of the most badass female characters ever in my opinion, and with the Absolute Universe swinging in full stride, as well as Hades 2 being stronger then ever, this fight is bound to be one for the ages, and the amount of potential these two bring to the table, and the love I have for the content is set to make this a blog to remember!  That is just about all that I have to say here however, but I will leave you all with one final thing. That thing just so happens to have sprinted out of my mind as I am writing this so goodbye!
